This product contains pine bark-derived procyanidins B1 and B3. Pine bark-derived procyanidins B1 and B3 have been reported to lower "bad" (LDL) cholesterol and to help maintain the flexibility of blood vessels (the degree of vessel dilation after the vessel is constricted), which declines with age.

Claim not authorised in the EU
- The "antioxidant" claim for polyphenols from French maritime pine bark was not authorised because it was not considered a beneficial physiological effect (2010 opinion).
In the EU, only health claims whose evidence has been assessed by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and authorised by the European Commission may be used on food. “Not authorised” means the evidence for that claim was not established under EU standards — not that the ingredient is dangerous.
