This product contains hihatsu-derived piperines and piceatannol. Hihatsu-derived piperines have been reported to have a function of normalizing blood flow (peripheral blood flow) that has fallen because of cold, and of reducing the drop in skin surface temperature in the extremities (hands and feet) caused by cold. They have also been reported to have a function of reducing evening leg swelling (temporary swelling that is not pathological) in healthy women who are concerned about leg swelling. Piceatannol has been reported to have a function of protecting skin moisture in people concerned about dry skin, and a function of maintaining skin elasticity and supporting skin health in people concerned about age-related dryness of the skin and the like. It has also been reported to make fat easier to burn as energy in daily life (at rest and during daily activities).

You can look up each product's notification by the number on the package in the Consumer Affairs Agency's database (Japanese).
In the EU: the register of health claims
No claim in the EU register
- No claim for this ingredient appears in the EU health claims register. In the EU, the evaluation of many botanical claims (about 2,000) remains on hold, and those claims are not listed in the register.
In the EU, only health claims whose evidence has been assessed by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and authorised by the European Commission may be used on food. “Not authorised” means the evidence for that claim was not established under EU standards — not that the ingredient is dangerous.
