- The sodium salt of glycyrrhizic acid, the sweet component of licorice, used as a sweetener.
- It may be used only in soy sauce and miso.
- Because it is a sweetener, the purpose name is written alongside the substance name, as in “甘味料(グリチルリチン酸Na)” (sweetener (sodium glycyrrhizinate)).
