Copied from the package as of the date checked. The label is shown in Japanese as printed; tap an ingredient to see its English name and role. The links in the table below lead to our Ingredients A–Z and food additive database. The label says in red, “抵抗力が充分にできていない1歳未満の乳児には与えないでください” (do not give to infants under 1 year old, whose resistance is not yet sufficient) (the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare also calls for giving honey only after the age of 1). It also says that honey turning white and crystallizing does not change its quality, and that to melt it you should put the whole container in lukewarm water as a water bath. There is also a note that color and taste may vary with the season, place and climate of harvest. It carries the fair mark of the National Honey Fair Trade Council. The official product name has “純粋” (pure), but the name column on the label says “はちみつ” (honey).
Ingredients, one by one
| On the label | Type | Role | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| はちみつ(アルゼンチン、ハンガリー)honey (Argentina, Hungary) | Ingredient | Main ingredient (the only ingredient) | Under the labeling rules for honey products, honey is defined as “a natural sweet substance that honeybees collect from the nectar of plants and store and ripen in the comb cells”. The name of this product is “はちみつ” (honey) (sweetened honey and refined honey were removed from “honey products” in the rules by the May 2019 revision). The parentheses give the country of origin of the honey (country of origin of the ingredient); when there are two or more countries, they must be written in order of weight, so there is more from Argentina. |
Not found in the ingredient list
This is not the maker's “not used” claim. These are things often seen in similar products that we checked are not written in this product's ingredient list. Additives carried over from ingredients may not be declared, so this does not mean they are absent (about additives not written on labels).
Next to a typical product
はちみつ(アルゼンチン、ハンガリー)
はちみつ(中国、アルゼンチン、ニュージーランド、カナダ、その他)
This is the ingredient list from Kato Bihoen Honpo’s official page (checked 2026-09-30). Both have only honey as the ingredient and no food additives. The difference is the country of origin: Sakura-jirushi is a blend in which honey from China is the largest, while this Nisshin Honey product is from two countries, Argentina and Hungary.
