Copied from the package as of the date checked. The label is shown in Japanese as printed; tap an ingredient to see its English name and role. The links in the table below lead to our Ingredients A–Z and food additive database. The label has a column “農林水産省新ガイドラインによる表示 特別栽培農産物” (labeling under the new guidelines of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries: specially cultivated agricultural product), which says “節減対象農薬:栽培期間中不使用” (pesticides subject to reduction: not used during the cultivation period) and “化学肥料(窒素成分):栽培期間中不使用” (chemical fertilizer (nitrogen): not used during the cultivation period). Under the Ministry’s guidelines, “pesticides subject to reduction” means chemically synthesized pesticides other than those allowed under organic JAS, and “during the cultivation period” includes the period from the harvest of the previous crop to planting. The label has no nutrition facts. It also has no Food with Function Claims labeling.
Ingredients, one by one
| On the label | Type | Role | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 緑茶(熊本県産)green tea | Ingredient | The only ingredient | The variety is “べにふうき” (Benifuuki) (the ingredient field on the Rakuten sales page says “緑茶(べにふうき品種)”, green tea (Benifuuki variety)). Benifuuki is a tea variety bred by the Vegetable and Tea Research Station of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (now NARO), named and registered in 1993 and registered as a variety in 1995. It is registered as a variety usable for both black tea and semi-fermented tea (NARO). |

This is not the maker's “not used” claim. These are things often seen in similar products that we checked are not written in this product's ingredient list. Additives carried over from ingredients may not be declared, so this does not mean they are absent (about additives not written on labels).

Good points and concerns
+Good points
- The only ingredient is green tea, with no food additives
- The label gives the place of origin (Kumamoto Prefecture) and the specially cultivated agricultural product labeling (no pesticides subject to reduction and no chemical fertilizer during the cultivation period)
- The label gives the manufacturer and the processing facility
−Concerns
- ¥1,260 for 30 g (¥42 per stick). More expensive than common instant green tea
- The product name on the sales page says “無農薬” (pesticide-free), but under the Ministry’s guidelines the term “無農薬” cannot be used on labels. The label says “節減対象農薬:栽培期間中不使用” (pesticides subject to reduction: not used during the cultivation period), so the label does not tell you whether pesticides not subject to reduction were used
- No nutrition facts on the label
