In Japan

  • A green coloring. Under the standards for use, it can be used only in kelp (kombu), stored vegetables and fruits, syrup, chewing gum, fish paste products, candies, chocolate, fresh confectionery and the agar in mitsumame, with upper limits set as the amount of copper.
  • Under the Food Labeling Standards, the purpose name is written alongside, as in “着色料(銅クロロフィリンNa)” (coloring (sodium copper chlorophyllin)), and the short names “銅クロロフィリンNa” and “銅葉緑素” can be used.

  • Specified as the amount of copper
  • Kelp (kombu) (anhydrous): 0.15 g/kg
  • Stored vegetables or fruits: 0.10 g/kg
  • Syrup: 0.064 g/kg
  • Chewing gum: 0.050 g/kg
  • Fish paste products (excluding fish surimi): 0.040 g/kg
  • Candies: 0.020 g/kg
  • Chocolate, fresh confectionery (excluding sweet breads): 0.0064 g/kg
  • Agar in canned mitsumame or in mitsumame in synthetic resin packaging: 0.0004 g/kg
