In the EU

  • It is on the EU list of food additives (Regulation (EC) No 1333/2008, Annex II) as E1442.
  • In the EU as well, chemically modified starches can be written together as “modified starch”, without the substance name or E number (Regulation 1169/2011, Annex VII).

When it is labeled under a shared name

Hydroxypropyl Distarch Phosphate may be declared on the label in the same way as “加工デンプン”. See Modified starch for details.
