In Japan

  • A designated additive used to prevent oxidation. Under the standards for use, the foods in which it may be used are limited to fats and oils and butter.
  • Antioxidant is a purpose that must be labeled together with the purpose name, so it is written as “酸化防止剤(クエン酸イソプロピル)” (antioxidant (isopropyl citrate)). The abbreviated name is “クエン酸エステル” (citric acid ester).

  • Fats and oils, and butter: up to 0.10 g/kg as monoisopropyl citrate
