Source and production
Obtained by dry distillation of tea made from tea leaves. The active components cannot be identified, but it contains amino acids, caffeine, tannins, and catechins.

In Japan

  • Obtained by dry distillation (heating without air) of tea made from tea leaves. The list of items in the List of Existing Food Additives says the active components cannot be identified, but that it contains amino acids, caffeine, tannins, and catechins.
  • Its purpose is processing agent (“製造用剤”). There are no standards for use.
