In Japan
- A manufacturing agent used in making wine. Under the standards for use, the foods it can be used in are limited to wine and the grape juice used to make it, the amount is up to 5 g per liter of wine, and it must be removed before the final food is completed.
- A substance that is removed before the food is completed and does not remain in the food is exempt from additive labeling as a processing aid (Food Labeling Standards).

- Grape juice and wine used in winemaking: up to 5 g per liter of wine (when used in grape juice, it is regarded as used in wine)
