In Japan

  • The sulfate salt of magnesium. No standards for use are set.
  • It falls within the group names “豆腐用凝固剤” (tofu coagulant) and “イーストフード” (yeast food), and when used for those purposes it can be written under the group name. When written by substance name, the short name is “硫酸Mg”.
  • It also falls within the additives that may be used for nutritional fortification, and labeling is exempt when it is used for that purpose.
