  • The sodium salt of pantothenic acid, one of the vitamins, used as a fortifier that adds nutrients.
  • No individual standards for use are listed in the list of standards for use (calcium pantothenate, the calcium salt, has an upper limit on the amount of calcium).
  • It is within the range of additives that may be intended for nutritional fortification, and when used for that purpose, labeling is exempt.
