- A liquid sugar made by breaking down starch. On labels it is treated as a food.
- The name changes with the proportion of fructose (under 50% is “ぶどう糖果糖液糖” (glucose-fructose syrup); 50% or more is “果糖ぶどう糖液糖” (fructose-glucose syrup); 90% or more is “高果糖液糖” (high-fructose syrup)).
