  • When two or more polysaccharides are used, they can be written together as “増粘多糖類” (polysaccharide thickeners).

  • In the EU, a label with only the purpose name is not allowed. The substance name or E number must be written (EU Regulation 1169/2011).
  • To prevent choking accidents, the EU prohibits the use of thickeners such as carrageenan in mini jelly cups that can be sucked in whole in one bite (2006).
